National Ice Cream Month is here and that means it’s finally time to cool off all summer with treats and sweets straight from the freezer aisle. Ice cream novelties (like the ice pops, sandwiches and cones) have been around since the 1920’s and while they may seem like “kiddie treats,” adults consume more than half of all novelties sold! We’ve come up with a few lists of some of our favorite cold treats to cool down with and beat the summer heat.
July National Ice Cream Month proved to be a HIT with Supermarket Guru Phil Lempert. From scoop-able ice cream to popsicles, the Guru found these ice cream & novelties products to be a must-have for summer and year-round. One of these ice cream products even took the title of PICK OF THE WEEK!
If you had to pick between ice cream, cake or pie for dessert, what would you choose? Luckily you don’t have to! To continue the Ice Cream Month celebrations, we thought it’d be fun to share our favorite ice cream cakes and pies recipes!

Ice cream is without a doubt one of the most versatile and customizable frozen treats. Whether you like it straight from the carton or dolled up with endless toppings, ice cream is great in whatever form it comes – in a bowl, scooped into a cup with soda or smooshed between cookies.
Whether you spoon it from a dish or lick it from a cone, there’s no denying the cool sweetness of ice cream on a hot summer day. It’s no wonder Americans indulge in an average of 48 pints ice cream per year. We are the number one consumers of ice cream worldwide. And even though you can find hundreds of flavors from traditional to trendy to offbeat, vanilla is still the number one flavor in the U.S.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM! And with it being National Ice Cream Month, that’s double the reason to scream for this beloved, frosty dessert. Did you know that at least 83% of American households purchase ice cream at least once a year?
