Honey Bunnies

Honey Bunnies

What you will need:

1 pkg. Bridgford Frozen Parkerhouse Roll Dough, thawed
¼ cup melted butter mixed with 1 Tbsp. honey
24 raisins
24 slivered almonds

How to make it:

Lightly grease sheet pans. With lightly floured hands, roll a piece of dough between palms of hands forming a rope, approximately 12-16 inches long. Continue with remaining pieces of dough. Place ropes of dough on a lightly floured surface. To assemble bunnies: coil one rope into a circle, on prepared sheet pan. Take the second rope and cut off a 4-inch piece; set aside. Take that remaining 8-inch piece and coil into another circle for the head; placing it above the first coil. Take 4-inch piece and cut in half for ears and attach to the bunny’s head. Continue with remaining pieces of dough, placing bunnies 3-4 inches apart on prepared pans. Brush with honey butter. Let rise until double in size. Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and brush with additional honey butter. Let cool. With a toothpick, poke holes for eyes and teeth. Take raisins (cut in half) and place in holes for eyes. Insert 2 slivered almonds for bunny’s teeth.

Tips: On the night before baking, you can thaw your Parkerhouse Rolls in the refrigerator. Just follow the simple package instructions: Assemble on a lightly greased cookie sheet(s), brush with melted butter or margarine, cover and refrigerate overnight!

On the day of baking, have your kiddos help you assemble these adorable bunnies for a springtime craft. Don’t worry about your bunnies looking perfect, it’s all about having fun!

Orange Blossom Rolls

Orange Blossom Rolls

What you will need:

1 loaf Bridgford Frozen Ready-Dough®, thawed
3 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine
½ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. grated orange zest* (rind)

For icing (optional):

2 cups powdered sugar
½ tsp. orange juice
2 Tbsp. milk OR water

How to make it:

Cut thawed loaf into 36 equal pieces. Using a little flour on fingers, shape each piece of dough into a ball. Set aside. Mix together sugar and orange zest. Dip dough pieces in melted butter and roll in sugar mixture. Place 3 coated dough balls in each cavity of a lightly greased muffin pan(s). Let rise until double in size. Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and pan, immediately to cool on wire rack. If desired, drizzle with icing. Icing: mix together 2 cups powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons milk OR water and ½ teaspoon orange juice.

*Zest is the outer peel of the orange. Use the finest size of hand grater to get the zest.

Tips: Follow the microwave thawing instructions on our Ready-Dough package for a great timesaver! Place the loaf on a microwave safe dish and spray the entire surface of the dough with cooking spray. Based on a 1300 watt oven (times may vary) heat the loaf for 2 and ½ minutes on POWER LEVEL 2 (20%). Turn the dough over and repeat heating time for the opposite side. Dough will be cold, but thawed and pliable!

The dough may “spring back” while rolling it out. If this happens, let it rest for about 5 minutes and then continue. Be sure to roll your dough out on a lightly floured surface!

Breakfast Sausage Monkey Bread

Breakfast Sausage Monkey Bread

What you will need:

1 loaf Bridgford Frozen Ready-Dough®, thawed

OR

1 pkg. Bridgford Frozen Parkerhouse Roll Dough, thawed
1 pkg. breakfast sausage links of choice, precooked (about 12 links, maple or original)
¼ cup melted butter
½ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

For icing (optional):

1 cup powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. honey
2 Tbsp. water

Cut each precooked sausage link into pieces (approximately 3-4 pieces per link), set aside. Let dough thaw until pliable. Cut loaf into 36 equal pieces (if using Parkerhouse Roll Dough, cut each roll in half). Using a little flour on fingers, shape each piece of dough into a ball and flatten out with the palm of your hand. Place one piece of sausage in the center of the flattened dough piece, fold dough around the sausage, and form into a ball. Coat dough pieces with melted butter and roll in sugar mixture. Place 3 dough balls in each cavity of a lightly greased muffin pan(s). Let rise until double in size. Bake at 375° for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan immediately to cool on a wire rack. If desired, drizzle with icing. Icing: Mix together 1 cup powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons of honey and 2 tablespoons of water.

Tips: Using fun cupcake liners will make for a festive treat, no matter the occasion. This will also make clean-up so much easier! Even silicon liners, as photographed above, are reusable and easy to wash.

Fun at the table: Upon serving this breakfast treat to your family and friends, keep the delicious filling a secret! This will be the ultimate, sweet and savory surprise.
